NIPEX registration for supplier prequalification and oil and gas tender access in Nigeria

Does your company need NIPEX registration?

NIPEX connects qualified suppliers with oil and gas operators that use the platform for procurement and tendering. Registration gives your company a supplier record. Approval for a product or service category still depends on the evidence behind that record.

A company that wants to bid for operator work should prepare its corporate, financial, technical and regulatory file before opening the questionnaire. Review the NIPEX registration requirements in Nigeria if you want the detailed document checklist first.

How NIPEX supplier registration is organised

The current process uses SAP Ariba for supplier registration and the NIPEX Vendor Management System for the company profile. Product codes and supporting evidence determine the work categories attached to the supplier.

01

SAP Ariba registration

The company starts from the official NIPEX registration route, submits its basic details and completes the supplier registration questionnaire on SAP Business Network.

02

Vendor Management System

After approval, the supplier uses the SAP Business Network identification number to activate the NIPEX Vendor Management System profile and continue qualification.

03

Product codes and qualification

The supplier selects product or service codes that match its permits, personnel, equipment, completed work and other supporting capability records.

NIPEX registration requirements

The portal asks for basic company details first, then requires a fuller qualification file. The final uploads depend on the product codes and whether the supplier must complete an audit.

1

CAC Certificate of Incorporation and current company information

2

Tax Identification Number, VAT evidence and current Tax Clearance Certificate

3

Company bank details, reference letter and financial information

4

Valid NUPRC or NMDPRA permit for regulated petroleum services

5

Company profile, organisation chart, staff CVs and HSE records

6

Equipment, completed work, client references and product code evidence

How to register on the NIPEX portal

The official 2026 NIPEX registration guide takes new suppliers through SAP Ariba before the Vendor Management System. The company name, CAC number and email should remain consistent across both systems.

1. Prepare the company file

Check the company identity, permits, tax records, capability evidence and the product codes you intend to request.

2. Start SAP Ariba registration

Submit the NIPEX supplier request and create or connect the company’s SAP Business Network account after invitation.

3. Complete the questionnaire

Enter the corporate and supplier information, upload the requested evidence and submit the complete response for approval.

4. Activate the VMS profile

Use the supplier identification number from the approval email to register and sign in to the NIPEX Vendor Management System.

5. Complete qualification

Finish the company profile, resolve queries, support any required audit and keep the annual questionnaire current.

What delays NIPEX vendor registration?

NIPEX checks whether the company information and requested work categories agree. A broad list of product codes with weak evidence usually creates more questions and a longer review.

Do not select product codes only because they appear attractive. Each code can require a matching permit, equipment record, competent person or NCEC category.

The CAC number or company name is entered differently across SAP Ariba and VMS.

Regulatory permits are expired or do not cover the requested product codes.

Tax, bank, financial or contact information is incomplete.

Staff, equipment and completed work do not support the selected categories.

The questionnaire is submitted before every required upload has been checked.

How we handle your NIPEX registration

We build the supplier profile around the work your company can prove it performs. That produces a cleaner category request and a file that is easier to defend during review.

01

Product code assessment

We compare your services, permits, equipment and experience with the current NIPEX product code requirements.

02

Portal and document preparation

We organise the corporate, tax, financial, HSE and technical records and complete the SAP Ariba and VMS entries.

03

Qualification follow up

We monitor the review, respond to document queries and prepare the supplier for any required verification or audit.

Choose NIPEX product codes carefully

Your product codes determine the opportunities your company can qualify for and the evidence NIPEX may request. Read our guide to NIPEX product codes in Nigeria before you submit a long category list.

NIPEX registration FAQs

These answers cover the current portal route, supplier requirements, official fees, product codes and annual renewal.

What is the full meaning of NIPEX?

NIPEX means Nigerian Petroleum Exchange. It is the electronic procurement and supplier qualification platform used for many oil and gas contracting activities in Nigeria.

NIPEX registration creates a supplier record and qualification profile for a company that wants to participate in oil and gas procurement. Registration alone does not guarantee an invitation or contract.

Suppliers use the portal for registration, profile management, product code qualification and access to procurement activity where they meet the required category conditions.

Common records include CAC documents, tax and VAT information, bank details, financial records, petroleum permits, HSE documents, staff evidence, equipment and completed work. The product codes determine the final list.

A new supplier starts through the NIPEX SAP Ariba registration route, completes the supplier questionnaire and receives an approval email. The supplier then uses its SAP identification number to activate the NIPEX Vendor Management System profile.

NIPEX does not publish one fixed completion time for every supplier. The timeline depends on questionnaire approval, document completeness, category review and whether the company requires an audit.

The official NIPEX supplier notice lists ₦30,000 for registration and ₦25,000 for annual renewal. It also lists separate charges for some product code additions and failed audit appointments. Visit or contact our team before payment so we can confirm the service and help you avoid losing money on the wrong process.

A prequalified supplier must complete the mandatory annual questionnaire update and pay the published renewal subscription. NIPEX states that failure to renew can lock the supplier questionnaire.

No. NIPEX states that it does not assist suppliers to get contracts. The platform supports qualification and procurement, while each operator decides which eligible suppliers to invite and award.
