Who can register as a Seplat Energy vendor?

Seplat Energy accepts technically experienced companies that can meet its requirements for goods or services. The company may delay onboarding when it has no current need or already has enough vendors in the requested category.

Seplat states that vendors are categorised according to their current upstream permits and capabilities. Review the NUPRC permit application requirements before requesting a service category your permit does not cover.

Seplat Energy vendor categories

Seplat classifies applicants by ownership and community relationship, then registers approved companies against service categories supported by their permits and capability records.

01

General vendor

A company in which Nigerians hold the majority equity. The vendor must support its chosen service category with current permits, staff, equipment and experience.

02

Community vendor

A company or business enterprise whose majority owner comes from a Seplat host or impacted community and can provide verifiable evidence of that relationship.

03

Foreign or special vendor

A foreign controlled company, a business without a Nigerian operating location, a government agency or another organisation treated under Seplat’s special category.

Seplat Energy vendor registration requirements

The process starts with Dun & Bradstreet validation. Seplat then requests the company and category documents needed for its own Vendor Management System review.

1

Valid Dun & Bradstreet certificate and nine digit DUNS number

2

CAC Certificate of Incorporation and current ownership records

3

Current NUPRC permit for the requested product or service category

4

Tax, VAT, pension, ITF and NSITF compliance evidence where applicable

5

Company profile, HSE records, financial information and staff competence

6

Completed work evidence and OEM representation letter for relevant equipment supplies

How to register as a Seplat Energy vendor

Seplat publishes a two stage official vendor process. Dun & Bradstreet validates the company first, then Seplat opens the Vendor Management System registration after receiving the DUNS certificate.

1. Complete Dun & Bradstreet validation

Register on the approved Vend R portal, pay the validation charge and upload the corporate records requested for verification.

2. Receive the DUNS certificate

Resolve document questions and obtain the certificate with the company’s unique nine digit DUNS number.

3. Contact vendor management

Send the certificate to the official Seplat vendor management team and answer the ownership and community questionnaire.

4. Complete the VMS form

Use the link issued by Seplat to enter the company details and provide the supporting category documents.

5. Follow internal approval

Answer review queries and wait for the registration letter generated after the Vendor Management System approval.

What delays Seplat vendor registration?

The two systems must tell the same company story. A Dun & Bradstreet record with different ownership, address or registration details can stop the Seplat review before the technical category is considered.

Seplat registers a vendor against the NUPRC permit it holds. A broad company profile cannot replace the correct current permit.

Dun & Bradstreet validation is incomplete or the company record contains inconsistencies.

The DUNS certificate has not been sent through the official vendor management route.

The requested category does not match the current NUPRC permit.

Tax, HSE, staff, financial or completed work records are missing.

An equipment supplier cannot provide the required OEM representation evidence.

How we handle your Seplat vendor application

We prepare both stages as one file. The details verified by Dun & Bradstreet are carried into the Seplat application without conflicting ownership, address or service information.

01

DUNS and company validation

We organise the corporate and ownership records required for Dun & Bradstreet verification and track the file to certificate issue.

02

Category and compliance review

We match the service request with the NUPRC permit, staff, equipment, HSE records and completed work.

03

VMS registration and follow up

We complete the Seplat Vendor Management System response, submit the supporting documents and resolve onboarding queries.
